Among the many rumours doing the rounds on the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus, that claimed several lives in China, the Ministry of Health (MoH) has clarified that shopping for Chinese goods online does not cause the disease.

“The virus is transmitted from humans and animals and not goods,” MoH said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Diseases Surveillance & Control of the Ministry of Health and the Director General of Health Services of North Batinah governorate along with a number of experts visited Sohar Airport and the Port of Sohar on Tuesday.

During the visit, the team met the operators at the airport and the port and reviewed the readiness of the concerned authorities regarding the disease. A number of procedures have been agreed to be taken at the airport and the port.
