After temporary halt, Oman Post resumes shipments to China
Oman Post on Monday announced resumption of services to China after temporary halt.
A tweet from their official account said, ‘At Oman Post, we strive to provide our customers excellent services.
‘Following Sunday’s announcement from some of the concerned parties/authorities regarding the cancellation of all flights to China, this resulted in the outbound services of Oman Post being affected, in light of China’s current situation with regard to coronavirus.’
Abdulmalik al Balushi, CEO of Oman Post, said, “In line with our commitment to provide customers with services that cater to their needs, we have collaborated with some of our partners to resume shipments to China. However, these might experience some delays, depending on flight schedules.”
Regarding receiving shipments from China, he said, “We would like to inform you that it’s ongoing as we have not received any instructions from the concerned parties/authorities to stop this process. However, these too might experience some delays, depending on flight schedules.”
Consignments safe
Oman Post added in its tweet, ‘After confirming with the relevant authorities, we would like to inform our customers that coronavirus cannot be transmitted through shipments.’
As per the World Health Organization (WHO), it is safe to receive a letter or a package from China. People receiving packages from China are not at risk of contracting coronavirus.
From previous analysis, WHO said that these viruses do not survive long on objects, such as letters or packages.
