Muna bint Mohsin bin Baqar Abdul Lateef, director of women’s projects in Oman Development Bank (ODB) said that the bank was providing financial support, training and help for marketing of the projects of their companies. She said this speaking at an introductory seminar on Wednesday about the product Anamil meant for financing the home maker women, held at the office of the Wali of Seeb in Muscat governorate.

The seminar was organised as part of the efforts of the ODB to directly market the financing of the home-maker women, encourage their self-work and support their skills in various productive and services sectors to accommodate Omani manpower and self-reliance. By organising such seminars, the ODB is trying to reach out to the targeted segment directly, take their suggestions and encourage them for opting entrepreneurship.

In her paper, Muna Abdul Lateef introduced the ODB and its vision to partner with the financing of the Small and Medium Enterprises as part of national development plans and goals. She gave the message of the bank of giving financial services and explained bank’s expertise in the area.

She said that the amount of financing by the ODB has reached to RO3,000. This is with zero interest rate. By this financing, ODB wanted to provide women opportunity to work and improve their living standards.

With this support they can start their own projects. The bank has 10 per cent of its funds reserved for women and addressing all their ambitions. ODB is aimed at the development of the national economy, local manufacturing, dependence on local products, creating new markets and healthy competitive environment to produce high quality products.
