80 peo­ple come to­gether to clean Ras al Hadd beach

As more and more peo­ple be­come aware of the need to keep the en­vi­ron­ment clean, 80 peo­ple came to­gether for a beach clean-up in Ras al Hadd in South Shar­qiyah dur­ing the week­end.

The beach clean­ing cam­paign was part of a se­ries of events con­ducted by the Min­istry of Tourism in as­so­ci­a­tion with Oman Can­cer As­so­ci­a­tion and Sur Club for Cy­cling.

The vol­un­teers col­lected 80 bags full of waste at Ras al Hadd beach.

Speak­ing to Mus­cat Daily, Nasser Musal­lam al Araimi, head of Sur Club for Cy­cling, said, “The beach clean-up was part of our cam­paign ti­tled ‘Rac­ing for their cure’ which looked to create aware­ness on can­cer pa­tients. In ad­di­tion to a cy­cling event, the cam­paign also in­cluded recre­ational games and a lec­ture to spread health aware­ness among mem­bers of the so­ci­ety.”

Araimi added, “Sur Club for Cy­cling will con­tinue or­gan­is­ing sim­i­lar events to main­tain the clean­li­ness of Oman’s shores and create aware­ness among the pub­lic.”
