Muscat - “I extend my sincere congratulations to Omani women on the occasion of Omani Women’s Day celebrated on October 17 each year.

Omani women who responded to the call of the Renaissance are working hard to build the country.

I congratulate every Omani woman who lives on this land or abroad, who has contributed or will contribute to the progress of Oman.

We extend our congratulations also to all our female companions from all the countries of the world who enjoy a decent life in this dear country.

There is no doubt that dedicating this day every year to the Omani woman highlights her achievements, shedding light on her remarkable contributions, spreading awareness of her prominent role and her high position and enhancing her aspirations for a bright future for this dear nation. This came as a result of the generous support and patronage of the Late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.

Omani women, over the past 50 years of the Blessed Renaissance, have received ample attention, care and honour. They have got the education, training and employment opportunities to actively participate in the development process of Oman to keep the sultanate in line with other countries of the world.

Complementing this approach, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik is keen to establish the principle of partnership and social responsibility between women and men in Omani society.

His Majesty the Sultan appointed a number of women to senior positions in the government in recognition of their potential and ability to perform the tasks assigned to them to realise Oman’s future vision with sincerity and devotion.

We extend our thanks and pride in all workers from different sectors fighting the pandemic and the medical staff who are at the forefront.

In conclusion, I would like to thank every Omani woman and I ask God to preserve our dear homeland, Oman, and to harmonise its people to the good, progress and glory under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.”
