Ministry signs agreement with Microsoft for digital transformation of education
The Ministry of Education (MoE) signed a cooperation agreement with Microsoft for digital transformation of education. Through the agreement, MoE aims to keep pace with the new system of blended learning in the educational process.
The agreement was signed by H E Majid bin Saeed bin Suleiman al Bahri, Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs in MoE, and Sheikh Saif Hilal al Hosni, country manager of Microsoft, Bahrain and Oman.
H E Bahri said the agreement is a result of continuous cooperation between the ministry and Microsoft.
“As per the agreement, Microsoft will provide training to teachers in the sultanate, which will enhance their skills and technological capabilities,” he said.
“The agreement aims to provide tools and competitions that contribute significantly to enhancing the digital transformation of the ministry and meet the needs of all groups of the ministry’s employees and develop its digital transformation plans,” H E Bahri added.
Sheikh Hosni said Microsoft is proud to support innovations to enable the education process and raise the foundations of the educational system in addition to creating inspiring and comprehensive experiences that keep pace with the requirements of sustainable development.
He added, “We will continue our efforts in support of the goals of Oman Vision 2040, which aims to create a high-quality educational system in accordance with national and international standards to ensure building local capabilities with dynamic skills that are competitive locally and internationally.”
Sheikh Hosni said the agreement, valid for five years, will help the ministry keep pace with the new era of digital learning, and it is part of previous strategic agreements with MoE.
