Nidaa Charity Team helps the needy in Bausher
The Nidaa Charity Team has launched an initiative called ‘Feed Them to Get Rewards’ to support needy families in the wilayat of Bausher. It has distributed over 5,000 iftar meals in the first week of this Ramadan.
Started in 2012, the charity strives to improve the living standard of unprivileged families in the wilayat.
Speaking to Muscat Daily, Suhaila al Rawahi, head of the investment committee of the team, said, “This year, we launched an new initiative - Ataamhum Tuujar - in cooperation with Mazariecom app, which provides fruits and vegetables. Anyone who wants to donate can register through the app. The initiative aims to provide 100 baskets of fruits and vegetables for distribution among needy families everyday.”
The iftar meals - 5,057 of which were distributed in the first week of Ramadan - were given to families affected financially by the outbreak of the pandemic, families with limited income and Omani employees who have been laid off.
Besides baskets of fruits and vegetables, and iftar meals, the charity is also distributing Ramadan food baskets that contain an assortment of items for daily need. “Our target is distribution of 600 of these baskets this Ramadan of which a few have been given already,” Suhaila said.

sponsors 522 orphans, paying rent, electricity and water bills of their accommodation facilities. Additionally, the team distributes gifts to families and orphans in Eid al Fitr.
“We will distribute clothes worth RO5,000 on the occasion of Eid al Fitr,” Suhaila informed.

According to Suhaila, the charity aims to raise awareness on the significance of community work and active participation in humanitarian activities to create harmony in society.
