The three-year programme offers internships for students who completed their bachelor’s degree, and will be selected by Huawei and the Ministry of Labour based on their GPAs.

A total of 300 internships will be offered with the potential of hiring high performing students at Huawei Oman office.

H E Busaidi said, “We are proud to be collaborating with Huawei on launching this programme and commend them for such initiatives that aim to upskill the youth of Oman and prepare them for the careers of tomorrow. It is our utmost duty to provide the right tools and resources to develop Oman’s ICT talent and support them to realise their full potential.”

Through such joint internship programmes, Chen Bing said, “Huawei aims to develop Oman’s digital ecosystem by empowering the local talents in the ICT field. We firmly believe that developing these skills contributes to Oman’s national vision for long-term economic growth and prosperity.”

The internship programme will start with a three-month online-training course, followed by a three-month classroom training, then practice in actual work after which the students will have a chance to join Huawei or one of its partners for a part-time and full-time on-the-job practice which runs for almost three years. Once the latter is completed, the programme comes to its end and students complete their graduation.

Through this programme, Huawei Oman aims to get the participants job-ready and to provide them with a competitive edge in developing their careers further.
