British School principal recognised as HPL fellow
Muscat - Kai Vacher, principal of British School Muscat, was recognised as an ‘HPL fellow’ on June 29 by Professor Deborah Eyre, founder and chair of High Performance Learning.
HPL Fellow status recognises Vacher’s sustained advocacy and commitment to the High Performance Learning (HPL) philosophy and framework and celebrates the exceptional contribution he has made to leadership in a global context, the school said.
‘High Performance Learning develops the essential skills, values, attitudes and attributes needed to reach success, both in school and beyond. Students learn how to succeed through the use of a consistent educational language that is shared between students and teachers; it enables students to think flexibly and creatively while developing the capability to self-regulate when things don’t go to plan. This provides students with lifelong skills to be high performing learners.’
Professor Deborah said, “As an ambassador for High Performance Learning, Kai has led by example and set the highest expectations for what education can be, resulting in his school successfully achieving HPL World Class School status.”
Vacher said, “I am honoured to receive such recognition from Professor Deborah Eyre, a global leader in education research and thinking. I look forward to continuing to work with Professor Eyre to systematise and optimise the impact of HPL within my school and to showcase my work with other HPL principals to demonstrate a re-imagined version of educational excellence. We are confident that together we can transform the educational landscape and ensure that high performance becomes the educational norm for all children.”
