MoCIIP grants powers to OPAZ in Invest Easy portal

Muscat – The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) and the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) on Tuesday signed a technical cooperation programme.

The programme was signed by H E Dr Saleh Said Masan, Undersecretary for Commerce and Industry at MoCIIP, and Eng Ahmed Hassan al Dheeb, deputy chairman of OPAZ.

According to the cooperation programme, the powers of all electronic services, provided by MoCIIP via the Invest Easy portal, will be granted to the OneStop Shop in the special economic zones and free zones.

This cooperation programme aims to facilitate and simplify the procedures for investors to obtain all the approvals, permits and licenses necessary for their investment projects from the One-Stop Shop and within a specific period of time. It also serves in forming a system of integrated services for investors to create added values and a business environment that attracts investments in the sultanate.

The programme intends to raise the standard of services provided to investors by fasttracking and simplifying procedures and consolidating relations with the relevant partners.

The cooperation programme between MoCIIP and OPAZ is in line with efforts accorded to develop the national economy, provide an attractive environment for investments, grant the necessary licenses to engage in various economic activities, create a sustainable environment and build continuous cooperation. Accordingly, this supports achieving the objectives of digital transformation, the government’s directives and Oman Vision 2040.
