In a move to relieve pressure on hospitals and to help COVID-19 patients, Al Rahma Association, has launched an initiative called Shida Wa Tazool.

Speaking to Muscat Daily, an official of Al Rahma Association said, “The initiative aims to show solidarity with the community, support the efforts of the Supreme Committee in limiting the spread of COVID-19, spread positivity among frontline workers and save the lives of people infected with the virus.”

The initiative is looking to raise RO100,000 to purchase oxygen concentrators. The association delivers the devices to hospitals to be given to patients in non-critical condition to help them complete treatment in their homes.

“The devices given to families who are unable to purchase these will reduce pressure on hospitals,” the association official added.

Al Rahma has already presented RO56,000 for the purchase of oxygenators for the COVID-19 department at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, and donated ten more to Sohar Hospital. It has also donated 100 shrouds to Al Khoud Cemetery.

“Since the beginning of the pandemic, the association has launched more than 12 initiatives to support needy families and alleviate its impact on them.”

The association is currently working to provide support to other healthcare institutions. “Anyone can donate to support the association. We also accept new oxygenators as donation, besides money to buy these devices which cost approximately RO300. The association receives any sum of money, even RO1.”

The association can be reached at 9747222.
