CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE
Sometimes we underestimate nature and the reaction is horrible. One of the best ways to keep trees on mountains safe from fire is making sure that they remain cool. It is a hot country and they are prone to fire.

We should obey the local laws regarding open fires, including campfires. We need to keep inflammable objects away from fire and have firefighting equipment handy. We should ensure careful disposal of hot charcoal and carefully extinguish all smouldering items.

Trees at camping sites in mountainous areas can be saved by regulating safety measures. Smoking, barbecues and leaving glass or bottles (as sunlight shining through glass can start fires) should be strictly prohibited. Open fires must be restricted in mountainous areas. In case of any fire, it must be reported immediately to the authorities.

Making fire rings of rocks in the mountains or fire pit in the desert and beaches can prevent fires. Extinguishing fire properly plays an important role. Use rocky/gravel ground instead of vegetation areas for campfire.

Spreading awareness about damage to trees due to human acts while camping, introducing regulations for trekkers/campers and imposing penalties for damage caused to environment will help in curbing fire at camp sites.
Aiman al Musallami
People should be aware and follow the laws regarding open fires, including campfires. There are no clear restrictions and punitive measures so people don’t take it seriously. More awareness is needed.
Fuad al Farsi
As a person who goes camping often, I would suggest authorities put up fire stations at the main camping areas. Also, local police stations must be well equipped with fire extinguishing tools in case of emergencies. Of course, people and campers must take extra care so that no accident happens.

Very often it is an irresponsible act for the sake of fun that ends up in a mammoth destruction of precious flora and fauna built by nature over decades. Campfires should be prohibited at areas thickly populated with trees. To enhance awareness, notice board should be placed cautioning against throwing cigarette butts and other burning objects.
