Air France to operate direct flights to Muscat

-

Muscat - Oman Airports and the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism have announced a new service to be operated from Muscat International Airport. In October, Air France will commence regular direct flights from Paris.

The new route is scheduled to operate from October 31, with the service flying three times weekly - Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Air France will operate its fleet of modern Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft on the Muscat route, which will provide 279 seats in three travel classes - Business, Premium Economy and Economy.

The new service will provide an important link between the two capital cities.

There are strong cultural and economic ties between the two countries that have been built up over centuries, and the introduction of direct flights will further strengthen these by providing more choice and connectivity, helping increase the number of business and leisure passengers in both directions.

France is one of the key markets for tourists visiting Oman, and pre-COVID-19 there were 68,000 annual visitors in 2019.

Considering Paris is one of the cultural and tourism capitals of the world, the route will open up access for Omanis looking to enjoy the sights of the city as well as others.

In addition, travellers from Oman will be able to access a broad route network across Europe and over the Atlantic to North and South America from Paris operated not only by Air France but its partner airlines in the SkyTeam Alliance.
