The agreement was signed by H E Dr Rahma bint Ibrahim bin Said al Mahrouqiyah, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, and Dr Amer Nasser al Matani, CEO of Oman LNG Development Foundation.

The agreement states that Oman LNG will fund mechanical engineering laboratories, including fluid mechanics laboratory, applied mechanics laboratory, and materials science laboratory.

H E Dr Rahma said that the agreement is part of the ministry’s plan to develop and upgrade vocational colleges to contribute to the economy of the sultanate.

“This can be achieved by preparing skilled professionals and technicians for the job market,” she said.

She added that the agreement is a manifestation of constructive cooperation between the ministry and the industrial sector. It also reflects one of the pillars of Oman Vision 2040 in promoting partnership and integration between different sectors, especially between the academic sector and job market.

Matani affirmed the keenness of Oman LNG in serving the society and supporting it through national projects and its Development Foundation. He said the company is interested in contributing to develop methods of teaching.
