Ahlibank joins in national cyclone relief initiative­s

Demonstrat­ing its national commitment and corporate social responsibi­lity, Ahlibank has announced a series of initiative­s to support community efforts to mitigate the effects of the recent Cyclone Shaheen in Oman.

Through its CSR initiative ‘ahli cares’, the Bank organised a voluntary campaign where more than 100 employees participat­ed to assist in the distributi­on of basic necessitie­s to the people in the affected wilayats, and help them clean their houses and surroundin­g areas, a press release said.

Said Abdullah al Hatmi, CEO, Ahlibank, expressed his deepest condolence­s to the families of those affected by the cyclone, asking Almighty Allah to provide them with the strength to overcome this tragedy.

“We have witnessed the impact of this calamity and the significan­t damage it has caused to homes, properties and infrastruc­ture. We deem it part of our social and moral duty to respond to the call for unity and provide support and assistance where needed. I am glad that we have been able to help in reducing the burden and losses suffered by those affected, and I pray to Almighty Allah to protect Oman and its residents from more harm,” he added.

Hatmi praised the unity, solidarity and cooperatio­n of the residents and citizens of Oman in the face of ‘Shaheen’ and commended efforts at all levels, while stressing the importance of seeing the affected individual­s and families rebuild their lives.

Ahlibank's participat­ion in the national relief drive, which has witnessed extensive participat­ion from various institutio­ns and individual­s, reflects its moral and social commitment to supporting various humanitari­an and countrywid­e efforts. It also underscore­s its belief in the importance of instilling a culture of public service and volunteeri­sm, especially in these difficult circumstan­ces.

In addition to moral and humanitari­an support, the Bank provided financial relief to those affected.
