Oman LNG hosts ICV Global Connect event in Muscat
Attesting to its In-country Value efforts, Oman LNG hosted the In-country Value (ICV) Global
Practitioners Connect event in Muscat, organised in collaboration with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) and Shell Development Oman (SDO).
The three-day event, which was wrapped up on November
16 with a high-level report out session attended by senior officials, featured expert-led panel discussions which shed light on best ICV practices and methods that could ultimately benefit the country and its people. To achieve its ‘learning and educa
tion’ scopes, the event also highlighted the role of ICV in supporting local SMES to foster a robust ecosystem that promotes
collaboration within the energy industry.
International industry experts, practitioners, specialists and enthusiasts joined the event to share their experiences and discuss the various trends and chal
lenges associated with ICV, with greater focus placed on sharing challenges and best practices relating to policies and operations.
Several panel discussions focused specifically on the role of oil and gas sector in promoting
ICV, the energy transition, and disruptive technology such as the transition to renewables, skills transition, climate change, IT, digitalisation, and further exploring potential industry collaborations. The event attracted many regional and international partners including Peterson Institute, FDI Advisory Board and different ICV delegations from Kazakhstan, Brunei, Norway, Saudi Arabia and Nigeria.
