Korea-oman Green Hydrogen Forum to take place on December 5 at OCEC

Birba Energy, the organisers of next month’s Green Hydrogen Summit Oman (GHSO) 2022 Conference & Exhibition, received in their office in Muscat recently a delegation headed by H E Kim Kiejoo, ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Oman.

At a meeting that following, H E Kiejoo shared details of the Korea-oman Green Hydrogen Strategic Forum 2022 that will take place against the backdrop of GHSO 2022 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center (OCEC). The latter event – a three-day showcase of Oman’s future green hydrogen industry – will run during December 5 – 7, while the Korea-oman forum will take place as a half-day event at the same venue on December 5.

Oman’s biggest energy partners and is now exploring opportunit­ies for cooperatio­n with the Sultanate in the green hydrogen space as well.”

H E Kiejoo stated, “This forum will provide a great opportunit­y for Korea and Oman to share their respective priorities for developing their low-carbon economies. Both countries can capitalise on their competitiv­e advantages to support each other in a mutually beneficial way to achieve their respective national objectives.”

“With many public and private sector stakeholde­rs in attendance, this forum will also provide an opportunit­y for both sides to share perspectiv­es, vision and best practices for green hydrogen projects in the MENA region, as well as in Korea and Oman,” he added.

Co-hosting the forum alongside the embassy is the Hydrogen Convergenc­e Alliance of Korea (H2KOREA), a public-private consultati­ve body establishe­d by the Korean government in 2017 to promote and develop the hydrogen economy.

In addition to H2KOREA, there will be presentati­ons by high-level representa­tives from Posco Holdings, Samsung Engineerin­g and Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI). Speaking on behalf of Oman will be key officials representi­ng the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, OQ Alternativ­e Energy, Hydrom and Hy-fly.

Meanwhile, an estimated 800 delegates are due to attend the main GHSO Summit organized by Birba Energy on behalf of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals.

The three-day conference and exhibition opens on December 5, 2022 with an exclusive executive roundtable for a select gathering of energy ministers, heads of internatio­nal energy think-tanks and CEOS of global energy companies.
