As FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 enters the second week, excitement and thrills continue. With Qatar hosting one of the biggest sporting spectacles of the world, it is a matter of pride for every Arab country as this is the first time ever that the region is hosting this gala event. Has Oman done enough to attract FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 fans and what else can be done to woo them before the end of the tournament? Here is what Muscat Daily readers had to say on the subject:

I do not think Oman has done enough to attract people to the sultanate. It was a great chance and we missed it. However, it is not too late and the tournament is just one-week old. The tempo will go higher in the coming days and weeks. We could have special World Cup Football rates for ticket holders who can come to Oman for a break. Oman can also make the visa process easy and onarrival.

Oman has always been a football crazy nation and with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 being played next door, no stone has been left unturned to make it the best event here. There are several volunteers from Oman who have gone to Qatar. Also, there are several cultural brand ambassadors in Doha. Football is also a platform where fans from all over the world can learn about our culture and traditions. We have such men there who are doing this bridging work.

Ali al Habsi is the brand ambassador of Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre which is the hub of football activities during FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in Oman. The infrastructure and facilities there are extraordinary with giant screens and various activities to promote the game and the tournament. However, I feel we lack planning. Things could have been better and we can’t dependent only on the activities at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.

There are multiple flights from Oman to Qatar on a daily basis. This is indeed one of the best facilities proving that the sultanate has done its best to promote the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. However, hotel charges are on the higher side and the authorities can work these out. We still have three weeks to go and if fans come here for a quick break, it will be beneficial for everyone in Oman.

Oman has done so much to promote the tournament in the country. There are hotels all around that are showcasing the event. We have so many flights taking fans on a daily basis to Qatar. We can now also have more tourists coming to Oman by making attractive offers in some of the best resorts. I agree that our government and authorities have done enough to promote the tournament.
