Pact inked to transfer technology, expertise in defence sector
Muscat - The Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence, signed a partnership agreement on Wednesday with Safran Group, a leading aerospace engineering company, to implement economically and developmentally beneficial projects.
The agreement aims to contribute to the modernisation efforts of the Ministry of Defence and Royal Army of Oman, while also enhancing national capacities in the military sector.
Nasser Khamis al Jashmi, Secretary-general of the Ministry of Finance and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Partnership for Development (PFD) programme, and Frederic Fourciangue, Vice-president for Support in Safran Group, signed the agreement. The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Dr Mohammed Nasser al Za’abi, Secretary-general at the Ministry of Defence.

training facilities for relevant personnel. Furthermore, the agreement includes the provision of necessary licences for the maintenance of helicopter engines.
These projects are of great significance for Oman's future, as they involve the transfer of military and civil manufacturing and maintenance technology. Additionally, specialised and professional training will be provided in the fields of manufacturing and maintenance, contributing to the development of expertise in these areas, ONA stated.
