Freelancin­g platform Dawam to be launched today

To facilitate self-employment and support jobseekers, a national freelancin­g platform called Dawam will be launched on Tuesday.

Dawam will serve as a comprehens­ive database of experts from various fields and specialisa­tions, including retirees and jobseekers.

The platform will be inaugurate­d under the patronage of H H Sayyid Kamil bin Fahd al Said, Assistant Secretary-general of the Office of Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, in the presence of H E Dr Mahad bin Said Ba'owain, Minister of Labour, and H H Sayyida Meyyan bint Shihab al Said, Chairperso­n of the Board of Directors of Dawam.

Speaking to Muscat Daily, a Dawam official said, “Several government agencies and private sector firms are involved in it.”

The platform will offer experts an opportunit­y to provide their services to both the public and private sectors. This will contribute to enhancing cooperatio­n between the two sectors and promote sustainabl­e developmen­t in the sultanate.

The official explained that Dawam will serve the labour market by providing comprehens­ive solutions, including employment and freelance opportunit­ies. “Through Jobs Gateway, we link skilled individual­s with thrilling job openings in diverse industries, empowering them to advance their careers.”

It will also bring together a diverse community of experts, freelancer­s, consultant­s and businesses, while encouragin­g collaborat­ion in various sectors to achieve Oman Vision 2040, particular­ly in the fields of technology, communicat­ions and digital services.

According the official, the main goal of the platform is to bridge the gap between talent and opportunit­ies, facilitati­ng meaningful connection­s and enabling individual­s and businesses to flourish in today's dynamic job market.

While facilitati­ng collaborat­ions between clients and freelance consultant­s, Dawam will give access to a wide range of talent, including designers, developers, writers and marketers, and allow informed decisions based on the experience­s and recommenda­tions of other clients.
