Badr Al Samaa, OHA sign MOU for two events
In a momentous occasion marking the collaboration of sports and healthcare, Badr Al Samaa Group of Hospitals signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) Oman Hockey Association (OHA) as the ‘official medical partner’ at its corporate office in Ruwi, Muscat.
OHA signed Badr Al Samaa Group of Hospitals as official medical partner of Hockey 5s World Cup and Olympic Qualifiers tournaments, which are currently taking place in the new Hockey Stadium in Amerat, Muscat. Badr Al Samaa Group is the long-term official medical partner of OHA.
The MOU was signed by Abdul Latheef Uppala, managing director of Badr Al Samaa Group of Hospitals and Dr Marwan al Juma, OHA chairman, a release stated.
The signing ceremony was attended by Moideen Bilal, Executive Director and senior management of Badr Al Samaa and all board members of Oman Hockey Association.
Oman is hosting 22 countries for the two tournaments - Hockey 5s World Cup and Olympic Qualifiers.
Dr Juma expressed satisfaction over the quality and comprehensive medical support, which Badr Al Samaa has been providing to Oman Hockey Association for years. He was confident that the group will deliver the best medical services adhering to advanced protocols of such global sports tournaments.
“This partnership with Oman Hockey Association is a pivotal step in ensuring the health and well-being of our athletes during the Hockey 5s World Cup and Olympic Qualifiers,” said Abdul Latheef Uppala on this occasion.
“We are honoured to join hands for these global tournaments, our expertise and dedication to sports medicine will play a crucial role in supporting the players on their quest for excellence," he added.
In a joint statement by executive directors of Badr Al Samaa Group, Moideen Bilal and Firasath Hassan said the MOU ‘solidifies a strategic collaboration’ with OHA that underscores the commitment to international player’s well-being during the highly anticipated Hockey 5s World Cup and Olympic Qualifiers. As official medical partner, they said, “we are proud to bring our expertise in sports medicine to the global stage.
“Our commitment to the wellbeing of the athletes aligns seamlessly with the values of the Hockey 5s World Cup & Olympic Qualifiers, and we look forward to contributing to the success of the tournament.”
Badr Al Samaa Group of Hospitals along with Ministry of Health (MOH) has formed a strong team with experts in sports medicine to cover all international fixtures and training sessions of the participating teams.
A three-tier medical support system has been created with on-ground medical support and a fully equipped medical room set-up at the stadium.
