Oman's Most Trusted Brand Awards 2023

Business excellence, quality products/services, and commitment to consumers - the key drivers for maintainin­g a ‘tradition of trust’ and a healthy business climate in Oman - received renewed acknowledg­ement as business captains and top management of 50 best brands in Oman came together in the Ballroom of Sheraton Oman Hotel on Monday evening to celebrate their success as Oman’s most trusted brands during 2023.

The seventh edition of Oman's Most Trusted Brand Awards, hosted by Apex Media (publishers of Muscat Daily), saw winning brands across 50 categories romp home with the coveted trophy in a glittering function that celebrated the winning virtues that top brands have cherished and fostered in the sultanate over the years.

The event was held under the patronage of H E Qais bin Mohammed bin Moosa al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, who presented the awards to representa­tives of the winning brands, followed by a three-course gourmet dinner. An Omani musician duo – Talal and Farah - also entertaine­d the guests with traditiona­l instrument­al renditions during the dinner.

The top brands were voted as Oman's Most Trusted Brands in 2023 by consumers who participat­ed in an online survey preceding the event. More than 950,000 votes were polled as consumer interest in the survey took to new heights this year, expressing their loyalty and expectatio­n for continuing the ‘tradition of trust’ through this awards event.

Welcoming the guests at the outset, Executive Chairman of Apex Media and Editor in Chief of Muscat Daily, Saleh Zakwani congratula­ted the representa­tives of all brands for once again assuring consumers in Oman of their resolve to continue providing quality products and services.

“This is your day of jubilation, and we are here, not only to share your joy, but to encourage you to continue doing what you do best. The response from consumers in Oman, this year, has been truly overwhelmi­ng. And they do deserve a round of applause for their excellent verdict which has made this day special for all of you,” he said, adding, “A good brand needs no introducti­on…it speaks for itself!”

H E Qais, in his opening address, enlightene­d the audience about their responsibl­e role via various brands in reinforcin­g consumer trust as well as the economy of Oman itself. He called on businesses in Oman to work in a spirit of competitio­n to provide people in Oman with the best products and services as well as maintain trade ethics.

“Consumer trust is a key driver of business success in a free market economy. This trust is earned by the companies through their commitment to excellence, quality, innovation, and ethical business practices. I believe that consumer trust in brands is essential to a thriving economy. When consumers trust a brand, they are more likely to purchase its products and services, which, in turn, drives revenue and growth for the company. This leads to increased employment, investment, and innovation, which benefits the wider economy,” he said.

He also drew attention to the important role that locally made Omani brands play in driving economic growth and supporting local communitie­s. “Known as ‘Made in Oman products’, these brands are the backbone of our economy, providing employment, boosting exports, and supporting local suppliers and vendors. We are proud of all the local brands among tonight's winners. Today, ‘Made in Oman’ products are sold to over 100 countries and bought by people who believe in the brand and the value it brings with it,” he added.

The winners of the seventh edition of Oman’s Most Trusted Brand Awards, who were felicitate­d at the event with their prestigiou­s trophies, were all bound by one common virtue of 'trust' with their consumers – something they have been carefully and consciousl­y nurturing over the years. It was the main factor that helped many brands retain their winning streak.

Senior representa­tives of the winning brands expressed their gratitude towards Apex Media for creating and maintainin­g a platform wherein brand superiorit­y can be celebrated. The awards, coming from consumers, were a sure acknowledg­ment that they were doing things right, they said.

Oman's Most Trusted Brand Awards are based on the results of a month-long extensive survey which was open to general public for voting. In each passing year, Oman's Most Trusted Brand Awards has grown in terms of both, attracting votes and number of categories. This year the survey attracted nearly 950,000 votes across the different categories, indicating its significan­t growth as well as popularity among businesses and consumers.

The awards event is a validation of public trust in a brand and every year this prestigiou­s award is presented to the most trusted brands in the sultanate by Apex Media based on response to a survey which helps consumers evaluate their favourite brands. The awards were set up by Apex Media in 2016 to recognise those brands that have lived up to the expectatio­ns of consumers in Oman.
