Ghubrah Front - a Ro5mn development project for Bawshar Heights in Muscat - has entered into the execution phase with Al Maha Petroleum Products Marketing Company and Saud Bahwan Group signing an agreement for a commercial venture.

The project - over an area of 24,000sqm - will consist of various commercial, recreational and service facilities that will significantly upgrade the city life with an added attraction, the officials said.

The project design - inspired by the nobility of the Omani heritage - includes a walkway, large green spaces, a children’s play area, a musical water fountain, shops, restaurants, cafés, a gym, a health centre, a supermarket, event halls and a smart business centre.

The project also includes one of the largest car service centres built according to the highest international standards. The car service shops, located in Al Maha Station, will meet sustainability standards using green energy sources.

According to an official, the agreement was signed by Hamad bin Salem al Maghdari, CEO of Al Maha Petroleum Products Marketing Company, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Saud al Mukhaini, general manager, Saud Bahwan Group.

Maghdari said that the

Ghubrah Front project is a continuation of the private sector’s initiatives in offering advanced and diverse projects that are compatible with the progress witnessed by the sultanate.

“The project adopts a modern concept of retail activities that mixes entertainment and commercial service, and provides facilities for visitors to relax and complete work with the latest technologies through the Smart Business Centre.”

The project is part of Al Maha

Petroleum Products Marketing Company’s direction to continue expanding and diversifying its activities to maintain sustainable growth and keep pace with changes in the business environment, Maghdari added.

It also reflects the sustainability approach adopted by the company with the aim of effectively contributing to the efforts of Oman towards reducing carbon emissions and increasing the exploitation of renewable sources to produce clean energy.

Sheikh Mukhaini stressed that the project represents an addition that enhances the diversity of investment and commercial activities in Oman.

It confirms investors’ confidence in the continuous improvement of economic growth and the progress of diversification efforts, he added, pointing out that “there is no doubt that such new integrated projects expand entertainment, shopping and recreation options.”
