Muscat governor reviews education developmen­t plans with MOE

Sayyid Saud bin Hilal al Busaidi, Governor of Muscat, met Dr Madiha bint Ahmed al Shaibani, Minister of Education, on Thursday to discuss efforts to improve educationa­l facilities in the governorat­e.

The meeting was in line with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik's Royal directives emphasisin­g purposeful interactio­n between service unit heads and governors.

The agenda of the meeting included a comprehens­ive review of the Ministry of Education’s (MOE) plans and developmen­tal projects in various educationa­l fields within Muscat governorat­e. A visual presentati­on showcased the ministry's objectives and key statistics, highlighti­ng its commitment to activating partnershi­ps between MOE and the governorat­es.

The meeting focused on the importance of digital transforma­tion and integratio­n of modern technologi­es in educationa­l curriculum. It also examined Moe’s policies on recruitmen­t and tran-sfer, as well as the pivotal role of the ‘Specialist Centre for Profession­al Training of Teachers’ in enhancing teachers' performanc­e.

Additional­ly, discussion­s were held on the ministry's approach to curriculum developmen­t, educationa­l evaluation and tracking student performanc­e levels. Developmen­tal projects in Muscat governorat­e, aligned with the 10th Five-year Plan, were also reviewed, including improvemen­ts in school transporta­tion and aspects of educationa­l expenditur­e.

The meeting was attended by Ahmed bin Mohammed al Humaidi, Chairman of Muscat Municipali­ty, walis and officials representi­ng the governorat­e and MOE, underscori­ng the collaborat­ive efforts to advance the educationa­l sector in Muscat and reflecting a shared commitment to fostering an environmen­t conducive to learning.
