SPF opens registrations for family income support
Families consisting of husband, wife and non-working children up to 26 years of age are eligible for SPF’S family income support
Social Protection Fund (SPF) has commenced the registration process for family income support benefit, an initiative aimed at assisting families with low income across all governorates of the sultanate. The registration is initially open to families holding social security cards.
Elaborating on the programme's objectives, SPF stated, ‘This initiative provides monthly financial assistance to families with limited income-generating opportunities. The amount of support is determined based on the family’s income level and its members' earning capabilities, with the target benefit value tailored to family size and gross income. The primary goal of this benefit is to enhance the living standards of these families.’
Families consisting of husband, wife and non-working children up to 26 years of age are eligible for SPF’S family income support. Additionally, non-working daughters who are unmarried or divorced, without children and under the age of 40 are also considered. Foster children are included in the family count for determining the benefit amount.
SPF'S statement further clarified the calculation of the benefit amount: ‘The value of the family support benefit is determined monthly. It is calculated by finding the difference between the target level - the number of family members multiplied by RO115 - and the total family income.’
This initiative reflects SPF'S commitment to social welfare and its efforts to provide essential financial support to families in need, thus contributing to overall social stability and economic well-being of citizens.
