Indian School Seeb sinks in Republic Day revelry
Indian School Al Seeb commemorated the 75th Republic Day of India - a celebration of the ideals of justice, liberty and equality, in a solemn function on Friday (January 26) resonating with the theme, India - Viksit Bharat (Developed India), Bharat - Loktantra ki Matruka (India - The Mother of Democracy).
While the ambience was filled with a spirited sense of patriotism, Indian School Al Seeb adorned a golden feather in its cap and gained entry into the prestigious Asia Book of Records. The school not only achieved this remarkable feat but also witnessed the realisation of a longstanding dream of a Sports Arena - a historic moment in the annals of ISAS history.
On this historically significant day of the India as a nation,indian Ambassador H E Amit Narang, as the chief guest inaugurated the ISAS Sports Arena. This state-of-the-art field is a multifacility playground designed to impart life skills, foster fitness, encourage teamwork, and instill sportsmanship through a variety of sporting activities.
The ISAS Sports Arena encompasses an array of sporting facilities, including a 200m synthetic track, a turf football ground, a handball court, and a multipurpose court equipped for basketball, tennis, and volleyball.
Additionally, the facility includes a cricket practice net, catering to the needs of students passionate about the game.
H E Narang enunciated excerpts from the President of India’s ‘Address to the Nation’, which emphasised a range of topics including the G20 summit, ISRO missions, women’s empowerment and India’s best-ever
Asian Games performance last year. Highlighting the Preamble of the Constitution of India he said, “India’s progress is not only the responsibility of the government but the duty of every citizen of the country.” He addressed the students, stating that they are the wealth of the nation and that its success rests on their shoulders.
This significant historical moment unfolded at Indian School Al Seeb, graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries.
Dr Sivakumar Manickam, chairman of the Board of Directors for Indian Schools in Oman, alongside Kiran Asher and Wilson V George, former chairman of the Board, attended the event.
Vice chairman Shameer P T K, and director in charge Nidheesh Kumar P P - both pivotal figures in the school’s leadership - were also there along with president Krishnan Raman, members of the Board of Directors, and of the school management committee.
Under the leadership of Principal Dr Leena Francis, ISAS scripted a remarkable feat ‘KOIN’ and gained entry into the Asia Book of Records. K-OIN (Knowledge Collage of Oman and India), the largest collage created using 30,608 handwritten pieces of meticulously crafted information on 2326 charts, by over 2000 students of Classes I to VIII.
