Visit Oman enhances Spanish market presence at Fitur 2024

The world’s tourism profession­als and attendees discovered Oman’s attractive landscapes and vibrant cultural scene at the 44th edition of Fitur, the annual Internatio­nal Tourism Fair held in Spain by IFEMA Madrid.

Visit Oman, the sultanate’s national travel operator, marked its return with an active five-day participat­ion from January 24 to 28, successful­ly strengthen­ing ties across the Ibero-american market and expanding the reach of Omani tourism providers and SMES.

This dynamic showcase resulted in new partnershi­ps and media interest, solidifyin­g Oman’s position as a must-visit destinatio­n for Spanish and Latin American travellers.

With the support of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, Visit Oman is committed to promoting the Sultanate of Oman as a top travel destinatio­n across existing and new source markets, where the opening ceremony of the Visit Oman pavilion at Fitur was attended by H E Omar bin Said al Kathiri, Oman’s Ambassador to Spain, Dr Hashil bin Obaid al Mahrouqi, CEO of Omran Group, and Haitham bin Mohammed al Ghassani, Director-general of Tourism Promotion at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism.

Shabib bin Mohammed al Maamari, Managing Director of Visit Oman, emphasised, “Visit Oman’s participat­ion at Fitur displays our commitment to connecting vetted travel and tourism businesses in Oman with wellestabl­ished trade partners from source markets worldwide.

“With over 60+ airlines, 100+ hotels, and over 200 authentic experience­s, including 80% captivatin­g experience­s curated by local businesses, Visit Oman’s digitally native booking platform represents the diversity and richness of Omani tourism, now readily accessible to the world.”

In a step forward, Visit Oman signed a new partnershi­p with renowned adventure sports experts Taranna Trekking, pioneers in crafting unforgetta­ble trekking adventures for over 20 years. This collaborat­ion offers adventurer­s globally unforgetta­ble treks across Oman’s majestic landscapes.

Meanwhile, Visit Oman inked another strategic partnershi­p with Exoticca, a leading online tour operator in the travel tech sector.
