MOE hosts meeting on education for Business Administra­tion, IT

The Ministry of Education (MOE), represente­d by the School Education Developmen­t and Structurin­g Project Management Office, on Tuesday organised an awareness meeting on the path of vocational and technical education for business administra­tion and informatio­n technology majors.

The meeting took place at the Modern College of Commerce and Science.

The meeting aims to spread awareness of this path of education and the ministry’s directions in implementi­ng it to keep pace with economic transforma­tions and meet the changing needs of the labour market.

The sultanate’s efforts in this field reflect its commitment to providing comprehens­ive and advanced educationa­l opportunit­ies for young people to develop their skills and achieve sustainabl­e developmen­t.

The meeting was organised in cooperatio­n with the Modern College of Commerce and Science, which is the partner in implementi­ng vocational and technical education for business administra­tion and informatio­n technology majors in four schools in Muscat and North Batinah governorat­es.

Teams from the governorat­es of Muscat and North Batinah, in addition to the principals of the schools implementi­ng vocational education took part in the meeting, a release stated.

The meeting was also attended by a group of administra­tors and stakeholde­rs from the Modern College of Commerce and Science.

The technical team of business administra­tion and informatio­n technology specialist­s from the ministry reviewed several topics, most notably student levels and analysis of results for the first semester, evaluation controls, student affairs list, the most prominent developmen­ts and challenges, and the ministry’s procedures for welcoming a new batch in the academic year 2024-25 of grade 11 students with the same majors in the same schools.

Dr Atom al Khatri, head of the technical team for vocational and technical education for business administra­tion and informatio­n technology majors, said that these meetings aim to identify the most prominent challenges in implementi­ng such education in the sultanate, and as a new experience at the level of postbasic education, the current situation of students’ levels must be analysed and appropriat­e solutions developed to ensure the success of this experiment and achieve the desired goals of this programme.
