MOE hosts meeting on education for Business Administration, IT
The Ministry of Education (MOE), represented by the School Education Development and Structuring Project Management Office, on Tuesday organised an awareness meeting on the path of vocational and technical education for business administration and information technology majors.
The meeting took place at the Modern College of Commerce and Science.
The meeting aims to spread awareness of this path of education and the ministry’s directions in implementing it to keep pace with economic transformations and meet the changing needs of the labour market.
The sultanate’s efforts in this field reflect its commitment to providing comprehensive and advanced educational opportunities for young people to develop their skills and achieve sustainable development.
The meeting was organised in cooperation with the Modern College of Commerce and Science, which is the partner in implementing vocational and technical education for business administration and information technology majors in four schools in Muscat and North Batinah governorates.
Teams from the governorates of Muscat and North Batinah, in addition to the principals of the schools implementing vocational education took part in the meeting, a release stated.
The meeting was also attended by a group of administrators and stakeholders from the Modern College of Commerce and Science.
The technical team of business administration and information technology specialists from the ministry reviewed several topics, most notably student levels and analysis of results for the first semester, evaluation controls, student affairs list, the most prominent developments and challenges, and the ministry’s procedures for welcoming a new batch in the academic year 2024-25 of grade 11 students with the same majors in the same schools.
Dr Atom al Khatri, head of the technical team for vocational and technical education for business administration and information technology majors, said that these meetings aim to identify the most prominent challenges in implementing such education in the sultanate, and as a new experience at the level of postbasic education, the current situation of students’ levels must be analysed and appropriate solutions developed to ensure the success of this experiment and achieve the desired goals of this programme.
