Over 34% of Duqm’s key road project complete
Duqm - The Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD) is making considerable strides in the construction of the first phase of National Road 32 with 34.5% of the project complete.

Notable feature of this road is its specifications aimed at preventing water accumulation and flooding, achieved through construction of three major concrete bridges over the wadis of Saay, Jurf and Dangert
frastructure.
The ongoing phase involves construction of a six-lane carriageway. The three lanes on each side are separated by a landscaped median ensuring safety. The project also features 23km service roads on both sides of 7.3m width.
The project includes installation of four intersections with signals, a roundabout, smart LED lighting poles and essential road signage. A notable feature of this road is its specifications aimed at preventing water accumulation and flooding, achieved through construction of three major concrete bridges over the wadis of Saay, Jurf and Dangert addressing potential natural challenges.
The project construction encompasses all necessary civil works, including excavation, asphalting and building transformers, bridges and tunnels at crucial intersections. The project integrates service network extensions, lighting, landscaping and provisions for future services, ensuring a comprehensive development approach.
SEZAD is also working on the second phase of National Road 32, maintaining the same high standards and dimensions for the southern section of the project measuring 13.8km. This road is a vital component of the main network in SEZAD, connecting Mahout and serving as a key artery for the region’s economic and infrastructure expansion.
