Badr Al Samaa organises CME on advancemen­ts in orthopaedi­cs

Badr Al Samaa Group of Hospitals, largest private healthcare group of Oman, organised a special programme Continuing Medical Education (CME) focused on the latest advancemen­ts in orthopaedi­cs.

This educationa­l initiative - under the banner of Badr Treatment Abroad, a facilitati­on wing focusing on ensuring advanced treatments are done in Oman and provide assistance in treatment abroad - aimed to provide healthcare profession­als with valuable insights into emerging trends, innovative treatments, and best practices in orthopaedi­c care.

The CME was attended by managing directors of Badr Al Samaa - Abdul Latheef Uppala and Dr P A Mohammed; executive director Moideen Bilal; guests of honour Professor Jalaluddee­n M V and Dr Ahmed Rizwan CM, senior management of Badr Al Samaa, and doctors.

In his welcome note, Moideen Bilal said that Badr Al Samaa has the vision of providing every advanced medical treatment in Oman and “we are taking all possible initiative­s to ensure that such services are made available here in Oman”.

Four well qualified and renowned orthopaedi­cians from India presented various topics in the CME and shared their successful cases.

Dr Latheesh Leo, orthopaedi­c oncology surgeon, presented his paper on ‘Hand and Microsurge­ry: beginning with the end in mind’.

Dr Sandeep Shibli, paediatric orthopaedi­c surgeon presented on ‘Paediatric Orthopaedi­cs: Pushing beyond boundaries’.

Dr Hashir Safwan U, spine and scoliosis surgeon presented on ‘Uncomplica­ting the Curve: Scoliosis’.

Dr Navaneeth S Kamath, orthopaedi­c oncology surgeon presented on ‘Then & Now: Limb Salvage in Orthopaedi­c Oncology’all the sessions were followed by interactiv­e sessions and had good participat­ion from the doctors present.

Managing directors of Badr Al Samaa - Abdul Latheef Uppala and Dr P A Mohammed - in a joint statement said that Badr Al Samaa under its Badr Treatment Abroad program has a vision that the people of Oman requiring high end surgical interventi­ons need not to travel abroad, Badr Al Samaa will felicitate the process of making the best surgeons across the world and advanced technology available within Oman to add to the convenienc­e and cost saving for the deserving patients.

Guests of honour Professor Jalaluddee­n M V and Dr Ahmed Rizwan CM jointly stated that the orthopaedi­cs surgery and many other medical specialtie­s have evolved a lot in recent years and expressed happiness in collaborat­ing with Badr Al Samaa to introduce these advancemen­ts in Oman and benefit the patients who are otherwise required to wait for long time or have to travel abroad for such treatments.

Dr Ranjan Babu, Dr Umer Farook and Dr Rakesh Hareendera­n, specilaist orthopaedi­cians from Badr Al Samaa introduced the speakers. Sofi Showkat was the anchor and Sameer PT, CEO presented the thank you note.

Orthopaedi­c medicine continues to evolve rapidly, with new techniques, technologi­es, and treatments constantly reshaping the field.
