Sohar Aluminium inks MOU to fund construction of building for charity team

Suhar - Sohar Aluminium Company signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Takaful Suhar Social Charity Team on Sunday to finance the construction of a building for the latter in the wilayat of Suhar, North Batinah.

The agreement stipulates financing the construction of a four-floor residential and commercial building based on an approved design, provided that it is constructed within a year of the agreement signing, a press release stated.

The project will play a significant role in boosting and ensuring sustainability of the activities conducted by Takaful Suhar Social Charity Team to serve the community in Suhar. Revenue generated from the building will support the team, funding its social and charitable activities.

The signing ceremony was attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah al Busaidi, Wali of Suhar, H E Abdullah bin Ali al Balushi, Member of Majlis A’shura from Suhar, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed al Balushi, Deputy Wali of Suhar, and other dignitaries.

The agreement was signed by Ahmed bin Mohammed al Kharusi, General Manager of HR and Corporate Affairs at Sohar Aluminium, and Abdulmunim bin Mohammed al Murshidi, CEO of Takaful Suhar Social Charity Team.

According to Kharusi, funding the project for Takaful Suhar Social Charity Team reflects the company’s commitment to social responsibility and its continuous efforts to give back to the communities, especially those located within its concession area.

Takaful Suhar Social Charity Team was established in 2012 and works under the umbrella of the Social Development Committee in Suhar. It undertakes various charitable and social services for communities in Suhar.
