Indian School Muscat holds 48th annual day celebrations
Indian School Muscat (ISM) whooped it up with much pomp and gaiety on the occasion of its Annual Day celebration at the school’s New Multi-purpose Hall on February 1.
It was indeed a captivating evening with a rich symphony of achievements and emotions, a vibrant tapestry woven with the threads of diverse cultures and a joyous celebration of harmony.
A galaxy of dignitaries graced the solemn occasion. Chief guest Mahfoudha Mubarak al Araimi, Director General for Labour, Muscat governorate and guest of honour Dr Sivakumar Manickam, chairman Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman, Ashwini Sachin Sawrikar, finance director, Board of Directors, Indian
Schools in Oman, Nideesh Kumar, Sirajudeen Nehlat, Krishnenedu S, Directors of Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman, Vinobha M P, senior principal and education advisor, Board of Directors, grandparents, parents and other valued guests joined the proceedings.
Principal Rakesh Joshi, senior vice principal -administration, vice principals and assistant vice principals of various sections, heads of various departments, teachers, student council members and students were luminous with pride and enthusiasm hosting the mega event.
National anthems of India and Oman marked the commencement of the auspicious occasion. Lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a melodic prayer song by the school choir facilitated a connection with the divine.
Head girl Chandrika Singh Yaduvanshi accorded a formal welcome to the august gathering.
‘Excellence Redefined’ - a panoramic vision of the crowning moments and the principles that drive the prodigious institution was a mesmerising view. This was followed by yet another montage unveiling the latest developments and insights that accelerated the journey in the year 2024. Principal Rakesh Joshi presented the annual report that walked the audience through the chronicles of activities, events, achievements, and accolades clinched by ISM over the past year.
The most awaited moment was the felicitation and acknowledgement of the hard work and enthusiasm of the teaching and non-teaching staff for their zestful contribution to the achievements of the school. Guest of honour Dr Sivakumar Manickam was invited to do the honours.
Teachers who completed 10, 20 and 25 years of dedicated service to the school were honoured during the event.
