Ain al Kasfa hot spring project complete
Development of the popular Ain al Kasfa tourist site in Rustaq, South Batinah, known for its natural hot springs, is complete.
An announcement to this effect was made by Dr Yahya Suleiman al Nadabi, Wali of Rustaq.
Costing RO400,000, the development includes 14 diverse projects to enhance the site’s appeal to tourists and provide amenities.
The site includes swimming pools, restaurants and cafes, expanded parking facilities and a heritage market, among other attractions. “These upgrades are poised to make Ain al Kasfa hot springs, renowned for their therapeutic sulphur content, even more appealing to tourists,” Nadabi said.
He informed that the Governor’s Office of South Batinah and the Ministry of Heritage and
Tourism collaborated extensively on the project.
“With its improved services and facilities ensuring an enjoyable experience, the project will attract a large number of visitors, further bolstering the site’s status as a prime tourist destination and promoting growth.”
In June 2023, Falha Investment Company signed four memoranda of understanding (Mous) to advance the development of Ain al Kasfa.
The agreements were signed with Le Furo Tokyo Company, renowned for its expertise in extracting minerals from hot springs; specialist constructors New Golden Solutions from Iran; Kalout Company and Al Bahja Group.
Falha Investment Company aims to introduce world-class hot spring facilities in Oman, and the collaboration with Le Furo Tokyo will enable it to set up a mineral extraction centre in Ain al Kasfa.
New Golden Solutions undertook the task of designing and developing the Ain al Kasfa project, ensuring its alignment with sustainable principles and harmonious integration with the surrounding natural environment in the wilayat.
For marketing, an MOU was signed with Kalout Company, a global marketer of hot springs that attracts tourists seeking the therapeutic benefits of such natural springs.
The MOU with Al Bahja Group focused on maximising the local value of the governorate through optimal utilisation of the heritage and antiquities present in the area.
