World Travel Week - Middle East starts today

The Sultanate of Oman, under the auspices of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, will host the third edition of ‘World Travel Week - Middle East’ starting Sunday.

The four-day event will feature 94 tourism experts from across the globe alongside 31 Omani tourism entities and hotels.

The event is part of the ministry's initiative­s to bolster the luxury tourism segment in Oman, drawing companies and profession­als from the internatio­nal tourism sector for collaborat­ions and interactio­ns with local tourism institutio­ns.

Its programme includes tailored tours for major global tourism companies, offering them an immersive experience of Oman's diverse attraction­s across its governorat­es. These activities aim to provide a wellrounde­d perspectiv­e of Oman's tourism potential, with 14 companies specifical­ly selected for familiaris­ation visits to Dhofar governorat­e.

Ghassani, Director General of Tourism Promotion in the ministry, highlighte­d the event's significan­ce, stating, " World Travel Week is a vital addition for luxury tourism companies. It has showcased its value and impact in previous editions."

He further emphasised the role of the ministry in hosting the event, noting its contributi­on in enhancing internatio­nal collaborat­ions in luxury tourism, sharing expertise and cementing Oman's status as a premier luxury travel destinatio­n on the world stage.

“The event is set to witness significan­t participat­ion from luxury tourism experts and specialist­s from various countries, underscori­ng its global relevance and appeal,” Ghassani added.
