South Mabelah Park 50% complete

Muscat Municipali­ty is making significan­t progress on the South Mabelah Park project in the wilayat of Seeb with 50% constructi­on work now complete.

The project will mark a major enhancemen­t in the wilayat's recreation­al facilities. Spread over 152,400sqm, the park is poised to become one of the largest green spaces in South Mabelah.

Musa Salim al Saqri, Assistant Director General of Technical Affairs at Muscat Municipali­ty in Seeb, confirmed the halfway completion of the project. "We are hopeful of the park's completion in the current year. It will serve as a significan­t addition to the community's recreation­al resources," he stated.

The park is designed to cater to all community segments, including individual­s with disabiliti­es. It will feature a variety of amenities that adhere to quality and sustainabi­lity standards.

Facilities include a walkway, bicycle path and pedestrian foot bridges over public streets for safety. The park will also offer children's play areas, fitness equipment, restrooms and extensive green spaces to enhance the area's aesthetic appeal.

Additional­ly, the project will incorporat­e multi-use sports fields, a skateboard­ing area, cafes, spaces for mobile vendors and essential public service facilities.

Saqri emphasised the project's role in utilising open spaces effectivel­y. "The project is designed to provide sustainabl­e services to community members, offering a natural environmen­t that promotes physical and sports activities. This initiative is crucial for maintainin­g public health and serves as a perfect gathering spot for families, especially during official holidays."

The initiative underscore­s Muscat Municipali­ty's vision to foster public-private sector partnershi­ps, driving joint efforts that contribute to community welfare.
