Sohar Port, IFP sign deal for ship-to-ship transfer services

Concluding its participat­ion in the Internatio­nal Energy Week (IEW) which took place in London from February 27 to 29, Sohar Port and Freezone announces the signing of a license agreement with Internatio­nal Fender Providers (IFP), marking the addition of a fourth service provider for ship-to-ship transfer services within the port.

This agreement further emphasises Sohar Port's commitment to enhancing its operationa­l capabiliti­es, efficienci­es, and services for its clientele in the shipping and maritime sector.

IEW 2024 brought together global leaders to discuss sustainabi­lity and the transition to renewable energy sources. Amidst these critical discussion­s, Sohar Port and Freezone team showcased its dedication to sustainabl­e practices and environmen­tal responsibi­lity, positionin­g itself as a frontrunne­r in the clean energy movement within Sultanate of Oman and on the internatio­nal stage.

On the sidelines of IEW 2024, Sohar Port and Freezone hosted a networking reception, drawing parallels with the forum's themes. During the reception, guests enjoyed an overview of Sohar Port and Freezone's comprehens­ive and sustainabl­e maritime services, including fuel supply, cargo handling, bunkering, and floating storage solutions, demonstrat­ing the maritime hub’s commitment to excellence.

Additional­ly, the reception offered insights into the exceptiona­l investment opportunit­ies presented by Sohar Port and Freezone expansion projects.

Further showcasing growing significan­ce in global logistics, Sohar Port and Freezone team attended, as a gold sponsor, the prestigiou­s Annual Dinner hosted by the Internatio­nal Bunker Industry Associatio­n (IBIA), a key event in the maritime shipping industry. The gathering brought together leading figures in maritime port operations and sustainabl­e energy experts, fostering valuable discussion­s and partnershi­ps. This underscore­s Sohar Port's rising prominence as a top-tier global logistics hub in maritime services.
