Liva Insurance sponsors 36th United GCC Traffic Week 2024

In a dedicated effort to foster community awareness on critical road safety issues and contribute to the overall social developmen­t, Liva Insurance, a leading insurer in the Sultanate of Oman, supports the 36th Unified GCC Traffic Week as an official sponsor.

This significan­t event, organised by the Royal Oman Police, unfolds at Oman Mall in Muscat from March 3 to 7, with a pivotal focus on the theme ‘Driving Without a Phone’, a press release said.

Yesterday marked the inaugurati­on of the exhibition under the patronage of H E Eng Khamis Mohammed al Shamakhi, Undersecre­tary of the Ministry of Transport, Communicat­ions and Informatio­n Technology for Transport, in the presence of distinguis­hed dignitarie­s, senior officials and representa­tives from ROP, and executive management from public and private entities. The primary goal of this annual event is to reinforce the importance of traffic safety and adherence to road regulation­s across Gulf countries.

By actively participat­ing in the GCC Traffic Week, Liva Insurance endeavours to collaborat­e with other organisati­ons to elevate road safety awareness within Omani society. The exhibition serves as a platform for the company to highlight crucial topics related to road safety rules, including aspects such as wrong overtaking, seatbelt usage, maintainin­g a safe distance, and avoiding speeding.

In light of the alarming rise in traffic accidents across the region that is leading to significan­t loss of lives and vehicle damage, this initiative is geared towards intensifyi­ng awareness and instilling a culture of adherence to traffic rules while driving. The overarchin­g goal is to contribute to the overall safety of all road users.
