Sale of homes in Sultan Haitham City begins

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning (MHUP) has initiated sale of residentia­l units in the Al Wafa neighbourh­ood of Sultan Haitham City, marking a significan­t milestone in the developmen­t of one of the future city's premier residentia­l areas.

Spread over approximat­ely 1mn sqm, Al Wafa will have 1,800 housing units upon completion of its five-phase constructi­on with an estimated total investment of Ro280mn.

Launch of Phase 1 introduces 375 residentia­l units, including a mix of apartments and villas, designed to cater to a diverse range of preference­s and needs. These units are scheduled for handover by the end of 2026, aligning with the anticipate­d completion of essential infrastruc­ture services such as roads, telecommun­ications, water, sanitation, electricit­y and street lighting.

The sales initiation ceremony was led by H E Dr Khalfan bin Saeed al Shuaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, and Salim bin Ali al Siyabi, Chairman of Board of Directors of Al Abrar Real Estate, a key developer of Sultan Haitham City.

In an effort to make homeowners­hip more accessible, MHUP has set the starting price for residentia­l apartments at RO29,000 for Omanis eligible for housing assistance, with villa prices beginning at RO65,000. For non-eligible Omanis and foreigners, prices start at RO101,000.

Projected to house 100,000 residents, Sultan Haitham City will spread over 14.8mn sqm and feature 19 integrated neighbourh­oods, promising a holistic living experience. The city's developmen­t is planned in four phases, beginning from 2024 to 2045.
