Registration begins for loose weight and win fitness challenge
In efforts to promote active lifestyles and healthy body mass index, KIMS Hospital announced launch of the second edition of Muscat Fitness Challenge at a press conference held on Thursday.
Targeting individuals in the age group of 22 to 45 years, the fitness initiative is geared towards combating obesity, promoting weight loss and fostering a healthy lifestyle among people in Muscat.
The 40-day challenge requires contestants to adhere to personalised diet and exercise plans devised by KIMS doctors, following a thorough evaluation and blood test. The plans will be tailored to align with the daily routine of each participant, ensuring sustainable and effective results without resorting to shortcuts like stimulants or keto diets.
Registration for the challenge – costing RO25 - opens on March 10. Individuals in the target age group are invited to embark on a transformative journey towards fitness. The challenge will commence on April 15 and conclude on May 25.
To facilitate their workout regimens, contestants will receive complimentary membership to 4U Gym or Biggest Gym in Muscat.
The first prize winner - for the maximum weight loss in 40 days – will take away RO500.
Addressing the press conference, Dr Samanthi de Silva, CEO of KIMS Hospital, said, “Muscat Fitness Challenge is not just about weight loss; it's about embracing a holistic approach to health. In addition to exercise routines, participants will benefit from yoga and meditation sessions, emphasising holistic fitness.”
Last year, over 50 health enthusiasts of different nationalities participated. The winner lost 15kg.
