Over 2,200 events planned to spread religious awareness in South Batinah
During Ramadan, the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA) will conduct over 2,200 events to raise religious awareness across South Batinah.
Dr Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed al Siyabi, Director of Endowments and Religious Affairs Department in South Batinah, informed that a comprehensive plan comprising 2,212 events is set to be implemented. “The primary objective of these events is to disseminate religious knowledge and values throughout the community.”
The diverse range of programmes include Friday sermons, lectures and religious lessons. The initiative incorporates the use of various social media platforms to widen its reach. Daily episodes featuring Quranic recitations, readings of prophetic supplications and impactful sermons by religious leaders will be broadcast online.
Siyabi added that translated lectures will be organised after Friday prayers in mosques frequented by diverse communities. These lectures aim to cater to the multicultural population of South Batinah.
Additionally, the Women's Education and Guidance Centre will actively conduct religious awareness activities for women. The centre plans to host exhibitions and forums with the goal of reaching a wide segment of society.
According to Siyabi, specialised programmes tailored for each wilayat within the governorate are designed to promote awareness of fasting regulations and encourage the community to make the most of the blessed days and nights of Ramadan. “The Women's Education and Guidance Centre is taking a proactive approach to involve women in these programmes.”
He added that preaching through the governorate’s Hemam online educational programme is another in which MERA aims to engage with the community .
The initiative will specifically target students from schools and universities, as well as local community members and residents of the governorate.
