Oasis Cricket Club opens doors to support cricket talents in Oman

-

The Oasis Cricket Club has commenced operations adjacent to the state-of-the-art Oasis Badminton Academy in Gala.

The inauguration ceremony, graced by Alkesh Joshi, a member of the Oman Cricket Board, witnessed the presence of cricket enthusiasts, players, and parents in Muscat.

Joshi emphasised the significance of such initiatives in fostering cricket's growth in Oman, stressing the importance of promoting women's cricket. He expressed intentions for the Oasis Academy's women's team to participate in the upcoming Oman Cricket League season.

The facility boasts three modern box cricket pitches and two net practice pitches built to international standards by seasoned curators. These versatile box cricket pitches can be transformed into net practice areas as needed. Expert coaching sessions cater to individuals, groups, and all age brackets. Additionally, the academy extends its pitches to clubs, corporations, and social organisations for hosting cricket tournaments. The surge in local interest in cricket, evidenced by increased participation among Omani Nationals, aligns with the nation's rising prominence in international cricket circles.

The recent inclusion of Rohan Ramachandran, a Keralite expatriate, in the Oman National Cricket team has further fuelled excitement among players and parents alike. Oasis Cricket Club Founder and Chairman Yogendra Katyar attributed the academy's inception to the growing support for local cricket, mirroring the success of the Oasis Badminton Academy. Katyar underscored the need to extend the same level of support to Oasis Cricket Club as its badminton counterpart.
