MOE organises programme on Life Skills initiatives
The programme targeted the educational supervisors and senior supervisors of the life skills subject in the educational directorates across the sultanate
The Ministry of Education (MOE), represented by the Directorate-general of Educational Supervision, organised on Tuesday morning a programme presenting educational initiatives in the life skills subject.
The programme targeted the educational supervisors and senior supervisors of the life skills subject in the educational directorates in the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
The programme presents the most prominent educational initiatives implemented by life skills supervisors at the educational directorate level with the aim of strengthening it and creating opportunities to exchange experiences and ideas between supervisors, as well as encourage them to adopt and develop it in a way that serves the desired goals in the subject’s curricula.
Every month, an initiative is presented from one of the educational directorates in the governorates. The North Al Batinah Educational Directorate presented the ‘Build My Homeland’ initiative, and Al Dhahirah Educational Directorate presented Needs-based Educational Supervision Initiative, Muscat Educational Directorate presented the Pure Gems Initiative, and in February, Al Buraimi Educational Directorate presented the ‘Fingerprint of Technical Creativity in the World of Life Skills’ initiative.
This March, Al Wusta Educational Directorate presented My Future Project (Confidence-ambition-success) initiative and next month, Al Batinah North Educational Directorate will present an initiative to experiment with training life skills teachers at the Vocational Training Institute.
The idea of the ‘My Future Project’ initiative (Confidence - Ambition - Success) for the Educational Directorate in Al Wusta was summarized in training students on the skills of creative problem solving, critical thinking, producing ideas for new projects that are achievable while studying the purpose and challenges, and skills of preparing and implementing small projects through markets held in schools.
An exhibition of entrepreneurial ideas is held in the school to display and evaluate the projects. The initiative aims to enrich the educational and scientific aspects of supervisory and teaching staff in the field of creative problem solving, and to improve teachers’ skills in employing effective modern strategies in the classroom situation.
The Educational Initiatives Programme in Life Skills aims to introduce the most important initiatives and supervisory experiences and their impact on improving supervisory work, exchanging supervisory experiences between subject supervisors at the level of educational directorates, strengthening proactive supervisors, highlighting their achievements and educational initiatives, and disseminating them.
