MERA spreads virtues of Ramadan with over 600 programmes in Dhofar
The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA) has initiated an array of programmes and events during Ramadan, engaging various segments of society, in Dhofar in an effort to raise religious awareness in the governorate.
Ahmed bin Ali al Busaidi, Director of Directorate of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Dhofar, highlighted the significant progress in Ramadan activities this year, marked by the organisation and execution of numerous lectures, lessons, exhibitions, competitions, special evenings and charitable initiatives.
Additionally, the distribution of awareness leaflets in mosques, women's prayer halls, Holy Quran schools, and educational institutions has been stepped up and supplemented with electronic communication programmes, including video conferences and activities on social media platforms.
A total of 653 lectures have so far been conducted by specialists from the directorate and imams across the governorate.
Busaidi informed that the religious lectures covered topics such as ‘ Ramadan: The Month of Mercies’, ‘Preparing for Ramadan with Faith’, ‘The Virtues and Benefits of Fasting’, ‘Fasting: A Path to Salvation’, ‘The Truth Behind Ramadan Fasting’, ‘Welcoming the Month of Good Deeds’, and ‘The Sunnahs and Etiquette of Fasting’.
Through these multifaceted activities, MERA aims to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of Ramadan's significance among residents of Dhofar.
