Royal Decrees establish three nature reserves

Muscat - His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued three Royal Decrees last week reading as follows:

Royal Decree No 23/2024 establishes Al Jabal al Gharbi Natural Reserve.

Article 1 stipulates that a nature reserve named ‘Al Jabal Al Gharbi Natural Reserve’ will be established and that it will be allocated the area whose dimensions are indicated in the annex and map attached to this decree. Article 2 states that the Chairman of the Environment Authority will issue the regulations and decisions necessary for the enforcement of this decree in coordination with the departments concerned on condition that the regulations and decisions include the method of management of the natural reserve and regulations organising entry of members of the public into the sanctuary, as well as the prescribed fees, the time of visit, permissible and banned activities therewith and administrative penalties applicable in each case. Article 3 states that this decree will be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on the day following its date of publication. Royal Decree No 24/2024 establishes Al Dhahirah Natural Reserve.

Article 1 stipulates that a nature reserve named ‘Al Dhahirah Natural Reserve’ will be established and that it will be allocated the area whose dimensions are indicated in the annex and map attached to this decree.

Article 2 states that the Chairman of the Environment Authority will issue the regulations and decisions necessary for the enforcement of this decree in coordination with the departments concerned on the condition that the regulations and decisions include the method of management of the natural reserve and regulations organising the entry of members of the public into the sanctuary, as well as the prescribed fees, the time of visit, permissible and banned activities therewith and administrative penalties in applicable in each case.

Article 3 states that this decree will be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on the day following its date of publication. Royal Decree No 25/2024 establishes Wahat al Buraimi Natural Reserve.

Article 1 stipulates that a nature reserve named ‘ Wahat al Buraimi Natural Reserve’ will be established and that it will be allocated the area whose dimensions are indicated in the annex and map attached to this decree. Article 2 states that the Chairman of the Environment Authority will issue the regulations and decisions necessary for the enforcement of this decree in coordination with the departments concerned on the condition that the regulations and decisions include the method of management of the natural reserve and regulations organising the entry of members of the public into the sanctuary, as well as the prescribed fees, the time of visit, permissible and banned activities therewith and administrative penalties applicable in each case. Article 3 states that this decree will be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on the day following its date of publication.
