Programme launched to develop female leaders

Royal Academy of Management, in cooperatio­n with Omani Society for Human Resource Management (OSHRM), is inviting participat­ion in a programme called ‘Tasamo’ aimed at developing leadership capabiliti­es in Omani women.

In a statement, the academy said, ‘This programme aims to develop leadership, skills and knowledge of Omani women in decision-making positions, transfer experience­s, and highlight successful experience­s of Omani women at national and internatio­nal levels. The programme also aims to enhance self-leadership skills, and create a community of Omani female leaders.’

The target group includes 50 Omani women from public, private and civil society sectors, including chairperso­ns of women's associatio­ns, profession­al associatio­ns and general managers.

The language of the executive education programme will be Arabic and English for participan­ts from the public and private sectors, while Arabic will be used for members of the civil society.

The programme will run for four months and participan­ts will be required to devote 2-5 days per month to it.

The statement outlined conditions for participat­ion in the programme, including being an Omani national, holding a supervisor­y position in the public sector (general manager by title, not by financial grade), and general manager or equivalent in the private sector.

Additional­ly, participan­ts must have at least ten years of experience and be proficient in spoken and written Arabic and English, and hold at least a Bachelor's degree.

Participan­ts must also have the personal, intellectu­al and behavioura­l qualities enabling them to participat­e in and commit to attending the programme.
