Israel bombs UNRWA school in central Gaza twice in 24 hours
Gaza City, Palestine - Within 24 hours, the Israeli army on Saturday once again bombed a UN school housing displaced persons in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.
Eyewitnesses told Anadolu that Israeli artillery bombed a school run by the UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) in the New Camp area in Nuseirat, causing severe damage to the school.
There are no reports of casualties. Meanwhile, a number of Palestinians were injured in a series of Israeli air and artillery raids targeting areas north of the Nuseirat camp during the past 24 hours, medical sources told Anadolu.
On Friday evening, the Civil Defence in Gaza announced that a number of deaths and injuries had occurred after Israeli artillery targeted the same school in the Nuseirat camp.
The Civil Defence said the school shelters a large number of displaced people, mostly
women and children.
Since Wednesday, the areas northwest of the Nuseirat camp have been subjected to Israeli military operations, resulting in casualties.
Death toll rises to 33,686
At least 52 more Palestinians were killed and 95 others in
jured over the last 24 hours as Israel continues its onslaught on the besieged Gaza Strip, the territory’s Health Ministry said on Saturday.
“The Israeli occupation (forces) committed five massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, leaving 52 martyrs and 95 injured during the past 24 hours,” the ministry stated.
“Many people are still trapped under rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” it added.
Flouting the International Court of Justice’s provisional ruling, Israel continues its onslaught on the Gaza Strip where at least 33,686 Palestinians have been killed.
