Internatio­nal School of Choueifat to host ‘Sabis Stars’ event in Muscat

The main organising committee of Sabis Stars revealed details of the global Sabis Stars event at the Internatio­nal School of Choueifat.

The global event is held every two years among students of Sabis schools around the world. This year, it will be hosted by the Internatio­nal School of Choueifat – Muscat in cooperatio­n with the Ministry of Education from April 19 to 20.

At the beginning, Hamad bin Faisal al Raisi from the main committee of the event said, “We are pleased that the school is hosting the Sabis Stars event, which provides a platform for students to display their talents in various fields of arts and sciences, including advertisin­g, public speaking, debate, poetry recital, creative writing, photograph­y, drawing, science, and singing.

“It is certain that the event is an exceptiona­l opportunit­y to enhance students’ creativity and innovation skills and discover and support their talents. This event also contribute­s to building bridges of communicat­ion between Sabis school students from different parts of the world and inspires them to work together to build a better future.”

Fadi Kleib, director of Regional Projects at Sabis schools, pointed out that the event is expected to be attended by about 500 students representi­ng 36 Sabis schools from 17 countries, making it a unique display of academic abilities, innovation, and student talent.

The competitio­ns provide students with an opportunit­y to showcase their talents in various fields, as they compete in advertisin­g design, where the participat­ing team will create a marketing campaign that includes the brand name, logo, short video, and billboard.

The event will also include a poetry recitation competitio­n, a creative writing competitio­n, a debate competitio­n, science and innovation­s exhibition, as well as a public speaking, plastic arts and photograph­y competitio­n, and a singing competitio­n.

He stressed that the competitio­ns are subject to careful arbitratio­n by specialise­d committees that include experts in various fields, in addition to representa­tives of the Ministry of Education, and that arbitratio­n mechanisms ensure transparen­cy and fairness in evaluating students’ creativity.

Armen Mansourian, director of the Choueifat School, said, “Preparatio­n for the event began last year through specialise­d committees and teams that planned and organised this major global event to ensure the success of the competitio­ns according to everyone’s expectatio­ns. There are 48 expert arbitrator­s from various government institutio­ns, including universiti­es and the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman.”

He also thanked the Ministry of Education, saying, “We thank the Ministry for their continued support and cooperatio­n by harnessing resources and allocating profession­als to ensure the success of this event. We appreciate their cooperatio­n and look forward to continuing to work towards common goals in the future.”
