Arabic language symposium begins
The Fourth Arabic Language Symposium began on Monday under the slogan – ‘Teaching and Learning the Arabic Language: Insights and Practical Experiences’, under the patronage of Habib bin Mohammed al Riyami, president of the Sultan Qaboos Higher Center for Culture and Science and in the presence of high-level dignitaries from the Ministry of Education.
The symposium, organised by the Ministry of Education, is implemented over the course of three days, with the participation of a number of experts and specialists in teaching and learning the Arabic language from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman.
This symposium aims to shed light on (practical visions and experiences in teaching and learning the Arabic language) in accordance with the best effective practices at the local and international levels. It also sheds light on the reality of teaching and learning the Arabic language in light of modern educational trends and reviews the applications of technology and artificial intelligence in the field of language teaching, by presenting successful and inspiring practical experiences from local and international experts and teachers.
In its fourth round, this symposium includes five basic topics - teaching and learning the Arabic language in light of modern educational trends, strategies for literacy and language empowerment, learning theories and results of educational studies in language empowerment, methods for evaluating language skills, and practical experiences and applications in Arabic language teaching and its learning.
The symposium includes many dialogue sessions and seminars on the topics of teaching and learning the Arabic language, and papers presented by a number of local and international experts and specialists from the Ministry’s General Diwan and the educational field, and training seminars on the skills of teaching the Arabic language.
