RAM celebrates graduation of 24 certified trainers
Royal Academy of Management (RAM) held a graduation ceremony on Thursday for 24 trainers who completed the Train the Trainer Programme, a collaborative effort with Ministry of Finance under the guidance of Eiler Executive Education Center at the University of Arizona.
The event was presided over by Mahmood bin Abdullah al Aweini, Secretary-general of Ministry of Finance, and graced by Dr Ali bin Qasim al Lawati, President of RAM.
The two-year programme was designed to enhance the training capabilities of participants from both government units and the private sector, aligning these with international best practices in the delivery of education. Participants were equipped with a range of educational modules. They engaged in discussions aimed at sharpening their training skills.
Lawati highlighted the programme’s critical role in supporting the academy’s strategic goals and its alignment with Oman Vision 2040, particularly in its focus on human capital development. "Investing in our trainers equates to investing in our greatest asset: our human capital," Lawati noted, emphasising the programme's contribution to building a robust knowledge economy in Oman.
Aweini discussed the broader objectives of the collaboration with the University of Arizona, which aims to bolster functional and institutional performance across sectors. "This programme builds a skilled community of trainers who are equipped to transfer administrative expertise and leadership skills to our national workforce, enhancing our institutional capacities."
Dr Yasmin bint Shannan al Bulushi, Director of the Train the Trainer Programme, outlined the specific focus of the training, which includes leadership development, application of effective training methodologies, and fostering collaborative networks among trainers. The programme also utilised psychometric testing to tailor development efforts to individual trainers' needs, ensuring a personalised and impactful learning experience.
Abdullah bin Mohammed al Abri, Director-general of the Partnership and Privatisation Unit in Ministry of Finance, said, "The training not only supports leadership development but also modernises management practices across Oman's state administrations," he commented.
