The international stage phenomenon, STOMP, took Muscat by storm with a triumphant three-night performance at the Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM).

Drawing near sold-out crowds on all three occasions, this globally acclaimed production captivated audiences with its unique blend of percussion, comedy, and theatrical brilliance. Described by the New York Times as ‘Brilliant and very funny: theatre at its most seductive’, STOMP fascinated expatriates, locals, and visitors alike for its premiere tour in the country.

For over 30 years, STOMP has delighted audiences worldwide, reaching over 15mn people in 53 countries across five continents. From humble beginnings, co-creators Luke Cresswell and Steve Mcnicholas crafted a production that transforms everyday objects into musical instruments, turning the mundane into the extraordinary. With its innovative choreography and infectious rhythm,

STOMP has earned prestigious awards, including an Olivier Award for Best Choreography and a New York Obie Award.

At ROHM, the 8 cast members employed boots, bins, and even kitchen sinks for instruments of rhythm and laughter. The show's co-directors expressed their pride in bringing

STOMP to Oman, emphasising the overwhelming response from Muscat audiences.

“We are very proud to bring STOMP to Oman for the very first time,” said co-directors Cresswell and Mcnicholas. “It was another show-stopping performance, and we loved seeing the reaction from the audience at the Royal Opera House Muscat!”

STOMP'S successful run in Muscat adds to the national opera house's reputation for hosting world-class entertainment. As the 2023/24 season draws to a close, the opera house continues its commitment to excellence with upcoming performances.
